SZM is proud to partner with one of the most storied Drum and Bugle Corps in the history of the marching arts! SZM is proud to announce that visual designer Andy Brady and Music Arranger Jason Nitsch will provide drill design and percussion arrangements for the corps 2014 80th Anniversary season!

A BIG Congratulations to the Clifton High School Band for their finish as a State Finalist at the UIL State Marching Contest! Clifton is an SZM Music client and performed a new original show titled "Danza del Acqua" this year! Way to go band!

2012 MidWest Performance!

Rory Davis and the Cinco Ranch Junior High School Honors Band from Katy, TX will present "Destination Cincopation" during their concert at the 2012 MidWest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, IL this December. "Destination Cincopation" (C. Alan 2011) was commissioned by Mr. Davis in 2010 and will reprise his groups performance for this special occassion! Mr. Davis also commissioned and featured in concert another Nitsch original, On the Banks of the River Shannon (TRN 2008), at the MidWest Clinic in 2006.

Kingwood Park High School Prepares for World Premiere!

Kingwood Park Band Spring Concert Will Feature Congressman Ted Poe
Congressman Ted Poe will be featured in a world premiere composition by Texas composer Jason Nitsch at the Spring Concert given by the Kingwood Park High School Bands on Friday, May 18th.  The concert will begin at 7:00pm and be in the Performing Arts Center at KPHS.  Admission is free.
 
The concert will also feature outstanding solists and small ensembles that will be competing in the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest on May 28th, Kingwood Park's first student ever to make the Texas All-State Band - percussionist Kyle Raney, The Symphonic Band conducted by Mr. Robbie T. Sitka, and the Wind Ensemble conducted by Mr. John Nielsen.  This will be the final performance of the year for the senior band members that will be graduating from KPHS on May 26th at Reliant Stadium. 
 
The highlight of the concert will be the premiere performance of "Battle of San Jacinto", an original composition that Texas composer Jason Nitsch has written specifically for this occasion.  The work includes a narration that will be delivered by Congressman Ted Poe, telling the story of the incredible battle leading to the birth of our great state.  Excerpts from many of the famous songs of that era in our states history will be heard strategically woven into the fabric of the composition by Mr. Nitsch.
